On the morning of Mason's 4 month birthday he got to have his very first bites of real food. Eating with a spoon is a full body experience for Mason. Eating food for the first time is hard enough. You don't know how to swallow and that stuff tastes weird. Well, when you can't keep your fingers out of your mouth and you combine it with food you don't know how to swallow; you really get a big mess. Mason had rice cereal on his hands, arms, legs, feet, hair, and all over his face. We loved every minute of it, though. After two days of rice cereal and a spoon, he seems to be taking to it very well. I think we'll move on to applesauce in a couple of days.
